Operation Valkyrie
Summary
Pierre Galante outlines the information history about the Operation which occurred between the Hitler and the High Command in Nazi Germany as a result of allied bombing uprising in July 1944. Therefore; the title “Operation Valkyrie” was named after Hitler’s assassination. The time was made to be even worse when the people attempted to attack the tough man Adolf Hitler in July 1944. The author says that military army had arranged troop of approximating up to 600,000 which was used in the military coup battle. Galante’s information is focused on how the city was divided and in preparation of battle before June 1994. The group of the army defeated the Germans in Normandy and from there they were made available to the battle filed in German. Galante focuses on the assassination attempt which had only the number 600,000 German troops who were not able to go to the field of the army between February and July 1944. On the whole format of the Galante’s history, the work seems to indicate the battle filed troops chaos, which included multiple deaths but the leaders did take a proactive response and perhaps prevented more widespread actions.
In this chapter, Galante’s statistic of the report could be counted from what is displayed in the history. The quality and efforts of the replacement of the army troop had been counted and declined from the time yet they were trained in the first place and they needed more training in order to defeat the battle filed. The assassination of Hitler served the purpose of making the German army officers concentrate on their side of government management. During this time, the military lacked the training at a higher level of military leadership and therefore; Hitler was very happy and he enjoyed the large operation. It was a disadvantage to the Germany military having the negative outcomes from the delegation which came from Hitler during his crucial time. The reason as to why this battle military happened was because of Hitler’s behavior and the people’s behavior which was experienced after the assassination attempt to his life. Hitler left behind a battered Europe with millions of broken families hence he did not contribute to the growth of future Germany apart from the superhighways and infrastructure.
Review of the source Material
In relation to the source material, Galante includes the sources of materials like newspapers used as primary sources which were read widely and some of the work is also based on the secondary sources and some of the interviews is performed from the people. The books and news papers showed out clearly that Hitler committed as a suicide alongside Berlin chancellery where the history portrays the information that he pulled a trigger of a pistol against his right temples and this marks the end of his life (Galante 299). The newspapers concentrate in various regions of the battle which took place following out the assassination of the chancellor including the James Duffy and Vincent Ricci targeting Hitler. Also, the book and the newspaper have the story of the Terence Pretties Germans against Hitler in 1964. This book contains the information of Galante whereby he is assessing the worth of the stylized versions of the events offered by the German leaders who survived in the war. The book outlines the plot against Adolf Hitler about the declined participation. It also includes other books which contain the information like the Gerhard Ritter’s German resistance (1964), the Fabian von schlabrendorffs, the secret war against germen resistant to Hitler (1965), Pierre Galante’s Hitler lives (1982), Hans – Adolf Jacobsen’s edited volume, July 20,1944 (1969), Joachim Kramarz’s Stauffenberg (1969) and James Forman’s Code Name Valkyrie (1973).
It should be noted that the significant number of books from the writers were used well by the Americans and also some of the Africans publications. Some of the interviews were conducted with those which matched with the events as written above. Albert Speer and Heinz Guderian provided a past coup military government after they all condemned against the battle. Galante’s book argues that Speer offered advice to the elite on how best he could have done to stop the rebellion by implementing strong rules to German troops underlining the concern for absolute loyalty.
The books and newspapers were distributed to library schools like University of Michigan, Oxford University, and the University of California among many others. The process of the interviews included many the primary sources which were consulted by Galante during the time of collecting the data material and also combining them. For example, the materials included the National Achievers’ at Howard University, Richard Nixon library and the Spiro Agerw Pears at The University of Maryland libraries.
Nevertheless, Galante provides strong information about the sources based on secondary sources of the historical landscape to the filed. The sources included the comprehensive nature and provide a wide scope of information to the readers seeking either the verifications of the facts and the revenues for further scholastic exploration.
Personal critiques
Generally, the whole process of the book of Galante brings up the period of assassination of Hitler and presents the well written account of the researched history containing the main Stein Von who was relieved on his appointment as a chief of the staff of the army group A and appointed commander of the army corps in Prussia where it happened that on February 17, Hitler summoned Von Man stein who was the Germans chief of personnel. Galante argues that Hitler had no intention of deviating from established the doctrine by allowing an independent strategic entrance by the seven divisions army groups. The work included a scope of general information targeting the military force group in the entire battle filed in Germany led by Hitler. The information from major books and histories helped a whole globe to have a positive perspective towards the violent cities during these times.
According to the whole history of the battle filled, the failure of the Operation Valkyrie led to many people being arrested. These trials occurred to people were in the form of guilty verdicts and at long last were never found to be in doubt. Many of teams were executed while others were sent back to their respective camps. On the whole process, the work seems to indicate the governmental umbrella despite the eventual chaos which came aside and caused a lot of deaths.
Finally, the consideration rose in this book and history gives the readers a clear motive and the identifiable culprit of the crime which indicated cases of replacement army and the apparent victims. The motives to this incidence show that groups were not transparent hence the data given out did not reveal the attention of the whole research process in the world war 11 histories without the correct thesis. In support of the hypothesis, German divisions were formed immediately in six weeks after the coup from the building surplus of the replacement army troops. On the whole format of the Galante’s history, the work seems to indicate the battle filed troops chaos, which included multiple deaths but the leaders did take a proactive response and perhaps prevented more widespread actions.
